Qatar Charity Institute has so far paid $100 million in humanitarian aid to Yemeni people, the Institute’s director Yusef Al-Kuwari said.
In the speech he delivered at a charity conference in Doha, Al-Kuwari did not specify, in particular, the recipients of this aid.
Qatar has been a leading supplier of arms for the anti-government groups fighting the Syrian president Bashar Assad ever since the uprising broke out in march 2011. Those military and logistic supplies have been also delivered under the cover of humanitarian aid to Syrian people.
Unclassified reports unveiled that the Emir of Qatar has dispatched militants to fight along ISIS in Yemen, in order to tip the balance against the Yemeni Army and Houthi forces.
