DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3:00 P.M) – Locals of two besieged towns in Idlib province successfully foiled a night assault launched by jihadi militants.
The pro-government fighters defending Kafraya and Fouaa towns engaged in fierce night clashes with extremist militants who attempted to sneak into the frontlines.
According to sources, jihadi groups stationed at Al-sawaghiyah farms east of Fouaa began a mortar attack at around 2 a.m. last night. This was followed by an attempt to initiate a ground invasion.
Clashes erupted for roughly 6 hours before the assailants were forced to retreat without achieving and progress.
The defenders, however, lost 1 fighter and two others were wounded in the battle.
