BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:15 P.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIS) is in for a long Spring, as they find themselves under a heavy attack at several axes around the eastern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate.

One particular group threatening the Islamic State’s survival in east Aleppo is the Syrian Arab Army (SAA); this force has wrecked havoc on the terrorist group’s positions for the last 2 weeks around the Deir Hafer Plain, liberating at least 15 villages in the process.

On Sunday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard forces surprised the Islamic State militants east of the Khanasser Highway, striking their positions near the village of Umm Miyal.

According to local sources near Khanasser, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies liberated Umm Miyal again, along with several hilltops surround this small, but strategic, village in Aleppo’s southeastern countryside.

The Syrian Arab Army is currently advancing east towards the Al-Raqqa Governorate from two different axes, while also attempting to expel the remaining Islamic State terrorists from east Aleppo.

Great news. IS is off balance and retreating so multiple axes of advance make the rebuilding of a line of defense and supply even harder.
Plus the need for suicidal holding actions cuts IS troops moral.
