Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko confirmed the dispatch of units from the Airborne Assault Forces of Ukraine to regions bordering Russia on his trip to the Zhytomyr Region on Thursday.
“From this military airfield, the elite of our troops – the units of the Airborne Assault Forces will be transported to important defensive regions and districts in accordance with the approved plans,” he said.
The Ukrainian president, referring to the “Russian aggression”, was confident troops would be “ready to respond adequately, quickly and effectively to any challenge, to take away any threat.”
