The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) carried out a surprise assault against the Turkish Army inside the Van province on Sunday night, wounding several guards at the police headquarters in southeast Turkey.

According to local reports, the PKK launched 4 artillery shells towards the police headquarters in the Van province tonight, resulting in retaliatory shelling from the Turkish Army.

No deaths have been report thus far; however, a half dozen soldiers were believed to be in critical condition after a direct hit by the PKK.

The recent upheaval in Istanbul and Ankara has forced the Turkish Army to redeploy their soldiers from the PKK areas to these aforementioned cities in order to protect the governmental institutions.

Viva Rojava! Angel Winter : Turkish army is far to be week. They’re one of the biggest in Europe although they’re mostly an amateur army due to conscription… And in case you wouldn’t know, Erdogan is clearly linked to Muslim Brotherhood and MB and al-Qaeda are simply the 2 faces of the same coin… Bin Laden was in MB before ceating AQ, MB intended a coup already in the 50’s against Nasser. Their main ‘thinker’ of this era, Sayyd Qutb, was hanged following this. Qutbism is another name for the Qaeda’s ideology… And they are masters in taqqiyya (deceiving). In… Read more »

Interesting, but very limited and perhaps should have they acted in sync with the coup which may have worked if there had been a massive PKK action at the same time, thus, diverting the loyalists, well, maybe… Now Gollum will have free-hand to crack on any dissent, he already begun, BTW

But does any one have an idea on what percentage of the Turkish military hate Erdogan? And is the abuse, torture, and killing of conscripts going to enrage others (who weren’t involved in the coup) to stop fighting so robustly for Erdogan/Turkey against the Kurds. What is it doing to Turkish military morale?

PKK : turkish kurd party. In fact, they’re just a political party, like Sinn Fein for IRA. The armed kurds that attack turkish state, most of the time in retaliation for harm done to kurdish people are in fact HPG.
The habitual things is that a turkish F-16 bombs the kurds and kurds down a chopper with a ManPADS or blow a tank/APC with an IED or shoot an ATGM against an army base… They weren’t far to get ErdoGollum during his electoral campaign : they targeted his convoy. Gollum is clearly racist anti-kurd.
