Pink Floyd musician Roger Waters discussed the White Helmets and what he called the censorship of Facebook, Google and YouTube content by corporations in an exclusive interview on Tuesday with RT’s Sophie Shevardnadze.

Talking about the White Helmets in Syria, Waters said “if that body exists and they go and help people after either Assad or the Russians or somebody else that’s dropped bombs on them, then I support them wholeheartedly with every fibre of my being, but all the evidence points to the fact that that is not the reality.”

“Did you see the documentary that won the Oscar? I mean, have you ever seen anything so obviously scripted? And carefully shot?” he added.

Talking about content on Facebook, Google and YouTube, Rogers claimed that it was being “censored by the corporations that own it,” adding that he would not be surprised if he disappeared because he is “anti-war.”

Waters was playing in Saint Petersburg as part of his “Us+Them” tour. The full interview can be seen in full soon on RT’s SophieCo.

This is a Civilized Place for Public Discussion

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

The topics discussed here matter to us, and we want you to act as if they matter to you, too. Be respectful of the topics and the people discussing them, even if you disagree with some of what is being said.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

If any group knows about presentation and showmanship then Pink Floyd would be up there with the best – cameras, editing, lighting, sound, special effects, etc…

And Waters is a pro at posing as a baba-cool while he’s a real p***k.
Hopefully, he left Pink Floyd 35 years ago after having, over 10 years, degraded the band’s music from spearheading musical and sound advances into a paranoid depressing pop music with short sighted political views.
