BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:50 A.M.) – Photo evidence has been released showing yet more US-approved armaments and heavy military equipment being trucked across northern Syria to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) battling ISIS in the city of Raqqa.
The photos come amid three intriguing developments taking place in regards to the SDF and the battle for Raqqa.
The first development is the SDF’s operational pause in the fighting for Raqqa city due to high losses. To this end, the SDF leadership has called for the the besieging of ISIS forces (and civilians) in Raqqa city until a new, less casualty inducing strategy is devised for combating the terrorist group.
The second development is the recent US-ordered withdrawal of a major Arab faction within the SDF from the front-line combat inside Raqqa. This has now resulted in the entire Raqqa operation now becoming an almost exclusively Kurdish operation.
The third development is US President Donald Trump’s executive decision to end all military and financial support for all so-called “moderate” rebel groups in Syria. However, as these most recent photos shown below suggest, that rule does not apply to the SDF or, more specially, Kurdish forces of the People’s Protection Units (YPG).
It now appears that the Kurdish YPG will become the exclusive investment for US interests in Syria.
