BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:50 A.M.) – Houthi rebels have shot down a US-built MQ-9 Reaper combat drone near the al-Khadraa border crossing in Saudi Arabia’s Najran region.
Houthi forces were able to reach the crash site and produce photo evidence of the kill.
The drone is reported to have been fully armed and to this end the pictures below appear to support these reports. However, no information exists on whether the drone was operated by the US Air Force or by the Royal Saudi Air Force.
Houthi forces are currently engaged in a bitter conflict against a genocidal Saudi-led coalition that has besieged the entirety of Yemen in addition to invading the country. Furthermore, Houthi rebels also fight Al-Qaeda in the Arab Peninsula (AQAP) and the so-called Islamic State.
Regarding the Houthi war against Saudi-led invasion forces, the rebel group has proven itself to be exceptionally resourceful in fighting this technologically superior opponent, often being able to ambush the coalition’s troops and destroy their heavy equipment, including tanks.
Occasionally Houthi rebels are able to even shoot down military aviation belonging to the Saudi-led coalition. The pictures below are evidence of just that.
