DAMASCUS, SYRIA (1:20 A.M.) – On Friday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Manbij Military Council (MMC) – heavily backed by US airstrikes – immobilized two Islamic State tanks in the besieged town of Al-Mansurah, located on the M4-highway west of Raqqa city.

After capturing over ten villages in the region this week, clashes have now begun inside Al-Mansurah where a few ISIS sniper nests and gun positions are still putting up resistance.

Pictures of clashes inside Al-Mansurah which began on Friday afternoon:

Once Al-Mansurah and the neighboring ISIS-held village of Hindah are brought under Kurdish control, the SDF and its allies are expected to finish up the Euphrates Wrath offensive’s pincer thrust, ultimately looking to encircle and capture the provincial capital of Raqqa.
