BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:15 P.M.) – Heavy clashes for a key city in eastern Idlib province between the Syrian Arab Army and Islamist militias has taken its toll on jihadist ranks, with three commanders and a religious law official from the Al-Qaeda affiliate group Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly called and more better known as Jahbat al-Nusra) having recently been killed.
Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham’s official media outlet has mourned the death of three of its commanders and a sharia (Islamic law) official who were neutralized in battles against the Syrian Army for the small city of Abu Duhur.
The field commanders were identified by Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham as Abu Muhammad Zaeem, Abu Baser Dart Izza and Abu Mosab Al-Sori. Abu Oubedah is the slain sharia official.
