DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:00 P.M.) – On Wednesday, the Islamic State mobilized all available forces for a huge assault that saw jihadist belligerents plunge through the government frontline along the provincial border between Homs and Deir Ezzor.
The offensive, spearheaded by a convoy of armored technicals and the remnants of the Islamic State’s elite Inghimasi militants, saw a desert fortification completely overwhelmed and most of the SAA garrison killed on the spot.
With some government soldiers executed at point-blank range, the Islamic State also seized a number of BM-21 Grad rocket launchers which may be used against the SAA at a later point in time. Images of the rare offensive can be found below:

According to Amaq Agency, the attack took place northeast of Al-Tanf, not far from the border with Iraq. The exact SAA death toll remains unbeknownst to Al-Masdar News.
Meanwhile, the SAA is delivering a devastating blow to the Islamic State in central Syria, capturing around a dozen villages on a daily basis this month alone, thereby paving the way for the eventual liberation of Deir Ezzor city.
