BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:05 P.M.) – The Syrian Army and allied groups are committing serious military resources to their new offensive to clear Islamic State forces from the western countryside of Deir Ezzor province.

Photos have emerged showing large numbers of government infantry, motorized forces and rocket artillery conducting operations in the desert west of the Euphrates city of Al-Mayadeen.

So far the Syrian Army, supported by Russian airstrikes and local forces, have already captured one town from ISIS in western Deir Ezzor.

All reports about the new operation state that the Syrian Army intends to completely clear western Deir Ezzor province of ISIS and bring an end to the terrorist group’s ceaseless attacks against various government-controlled cities, towns and bases throughout the region.
