DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:55 P.M.) – On Thursday, Moscow delivered a new batch of humanitarian aid to needy residents in the city of Salamiyah in eastern Hama.
Several tons of food, goods and medicine were dispersed among families of deceased Syrian army soldiers. Orphans, whose parents died on the battlefield fighting ISIS, set up a ceremony as a token of appreciation.
The aid was coordinated by Russian troops and the National Defence Forces after a delegation led by General Eliek arrived from Khmeimim Airbase.
Salamiyah is one of few cities across Syria that has been under government control since day one. The city’s population is overwhelmingly Ismaeli, a branch of Shia Islam.
