DAMASCUS, SYRIA (2:35 A.M.) – Fierce clashes continue in Raqqa city as Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) attempt to advance inside the de-facto Syrian capital of the so-called “Islamic State”.
The designated terrorist group, however, puts up stiff resistance not willing to concede the city.
As a result, counterattacks by IS jihadists inside the city and on its outskirts have been usual thing for the past several days.
One of such counterattacks took place on Sunday in Sina’a district, eastern Raqqa, when IS jihadists raided SDF positions catching the latter’s fighters off-guard:
Two SDF fighters were killed, their temporary location burned, before IS militants retreated to their starting positions.
