Islamist rebels in the embattled northern city of Aleppo have launched a new surge of rocket attacks on the government-held districts of the city, killing at least 7 schoolchildren and woman.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that a rocket hit a school in the al-Forqan neighborhood this morning, killing 7 children, injuring 19 others along with their teacher.
Meanwhile, several rockets and shells rocked al-Shahba neighborhood, al-Basel Hospital for Cardiac Surgery, and Fawzi al-Jesri School, killing a woman, and wounding scores of civilians.
The massacre occurred as UN special envoy Staffan de Mistura arrived to the Syrian capital to hold talk with Syria’s FM Walid al-Muallem regarding the Syrian crisis.
On the other side, western media outlets have accused Damascus and Moscow of bombing hospitals and medical points in the rebel-held districts of the city’s east, causing civilian casualties in the area.
