BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:57 P.M.) – It has been another amazing day for the Syrian Army (SAA) in rural eastern Aleppo with ISIS facing full annihilation in this area of northern Syria.
The operation began with a positive start with the SAA reaching Lake Assad yesterday for the first time since 2012.

This led to the quick capture Al-Khafsa and Khafsah Water Pumping Station 1 with ISIS offering weak resistance.
The SAA confident in having reached the imperative Lake Assad for the first time in years continued to advance in rapid progression and captured the Water Pumping Station 2, Rajm Al-Aqra`, Tall Taton, Mashraft Tall Taton, Mashraft Al-Tin, Al-Hiryah, Baberi Al-Tahtani, Khirbet Aqlah, Khirbet Saleeb, Shtaleh Mountain and Al-Qowas Hill.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Aleppo explained that with the anticipation that the SAA would easily overrun ISIS in this part of eastern Aleppo countryside, ISIS cut the electricity to the Khafsah Pumps. He did reassure civilians however that tomorrow maintenance crews will be dispatched to bring power back to the region.
Although ISIS sent five suicide bombers in vehicles to slow down the rapid advance, they were easily neutralized by the Syrian Army leading to no casualties among their ranks. The SAA also destroyed mortar launchers and couple of vehicles fitted with 23mm gun, which will prove to be a great material loss to the terrorist group as they continue their decline in Aleppo countryside.

Dozens of terrorists were exterminated by the SAA and many also captured through the duration of the day. This includes many sniper nests that were exterminated.

In process of this devastating attack on ISIS, the SAA also safely dismantled more than 200 IED’s planted in and around the Water Pumping Stations 1 and 2.
This brings the SAA into a powerful position to assault and liberate the imperative Jirah airbase. They are now positioned just 500m from the airbase and are working on creating a siege on the site in the hope that ISIS will be forced to retreat from it without a fight before they are trapped.
The capture of Jirah airbase will allow for the SAA to encircle one of the last remaining ISIS strongholds in rural Aleppo, Deir Hafer.
