BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:00 P.M.) – Mayor of Tanauan Antonio Halili was killed during a flag-ceremony in front at the Tanauan City Hall on Monday morning.
City Hall staff and the mayor were signing national anthem when Halili was hit by a bullet in his chest.
He was immediately brought to the C.P. Reyes Medical Centre, where he died of his wounds.
Halili, known to be a supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, had garnered controversy after he staged a ‘walk of shame’ for local drug dealers in 2016.
