DAMASCUS, SYRIA (12:40 A.M)- A recent pole suggests that the Palestinian people across the occupied territories have overwhelmingly decided that the current Palestinian president must step down.
The new pole which was conducted by the Palestinian centre for Policy and Survey research (PSR) suggested that 67% of Palestinians across the West Bank and Gaza Strip call for President of the Palestinian Authority (PA) Mahmoud Abbas to resign.
According to the PSR, the “PA has now become a burden on the Palestinian people”. Many Palestinians also call upon Abbas to dismantle the PA instead of just resigning as president.
With the deteriorating health of Mahmoud Abbas and no peaceful solution on the horizon – for the Palestinian people – in accordance to international law, could this be the end of an era in Palestinian politics?
