The Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” – in coordination with Jaysh Al-Mujahiddeen – stormed the predominately Palestinian Al-Nayrab Refugee Camp near the Aleppo International Airport, attacking from their positions in southern Al-Ramouseh.
Upon their attempted infiltration, the Jabhat Al-Nusra and Jaysh Al-Mujahiddeen fighters were met with fierce resistance from Palestinian militia “Liwaa Al-Quds”, who later pushed these Islamist militants back towards the Al-Ramouseh District after intense clashes.
According to Lt. Mohammad Issa Hazem from Liwaa Al-Quds, the Palestinian militiamen were able to kill 31 enemy combatants, including a number of Chechen fighters who possessed Turkish passports.
As Jabhat Al-Nusra and their allies retreated, the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) rained down a powerful assault from the air, destroying two enemy vehicles attempting to flee the battle.
East of Al-Nayrab, the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) restarted their assault at the Kuweires Airbase; however, they were repelled one hour into the battle, as the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) frontline defenses proved too strong for the ISIS fighters to infiltrate.
At Bashkoy, the National Defense Forces (NDF) destroyed a Jabhat Al-Nusra tank that was attempting to attack the village from the western flank – 13 enemy combatants were killed along with it.
