BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:00 A.M.) – The pro-government Palestinian militia “Galilee has joined the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the western countryside of Palmyra recently in order to participate in the liberation of this ancient city from the Islamic State (ISIS).
Led by Fadi Malaah, a Palestinian born in Syria, the Galilee Forces have fought in several battles against the jihadist rebels and Islamic State militants across Syria, earning praise from the Syrian Arab Army’s High Command for their gallantry on the battlefield.
Similar to other Palestine militias (e.g. Liwaa Al-Quds) in Syria, the Galilee Forces work side-by-side with the Syrian Arab Army and often share intel on the battlefield.
While not as big as Liwaa Al-Quds, the Galilee Forces do number have a large number of fighters that come from several refugee camps around Syria, including one of the largest camps in Latakia.
