DAMASCUS, SYRIA (9:40 A.M)- Palestinian resistance icon, Ahed Tamimi, has been released from an Israeli Military prison after serving 8 months.
Ahed Tamimi became a Palestinian icon after a video of her slapping an Israeli soldier, in the face, went viral. Ahed spent 3 months in administrative detention, until a charge was reached of 8 months. Nariman Tamimi, the mother of Ahed, was also released today with her daughter.
Ahed Tamimi, 17, was met with a sea of cameras, protestors and family as her and her mother, exited prison.
Ahed Tamimi told media, upon her release, that “the Palestinian people will continue to resist occupation”, she also stated that “the occupation is coming to its demise” and “the arrests will not stop us”.
