BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 P.M.) – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is ready to return to peace talks with Israel, after holding talks with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Friday.
“We are ready to go back to negotiations, whether confidential or public, with the Quartet being the mediator,” said Abbas.
The so-called Quartet is comprised of the US, UN, EU, and Russia.
The Paris visit was scheduled at the request of Macron in July, after both leaders attended the final match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Moscow.
