BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:20 P.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) has suffered a large number of casualties since the U.S.backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) restarted their large-scale operation in eastern Syria.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), Daesh has lost 739 fighters over the last three months in the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
The SOHR report also claimed that 452 fighters from the Syrian Democratic Forces were killed in eastern Syria since they restarted this Deir Ezzor operation.
In regards to civilian casualties, the SOHR claimed at least 300 people, mostly children, have been killed as a result of the fighting in the Deir Ezzor province.
The Syrian Democratic Forces have managed to capture most of the eastern part of the Euphrates River Valley in this time period, leaving Daesh trapped in a small pocket near the Iraqi border.
