BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 P.M.) – Over 70 Syrian tribes issued a joint statement on Saturday that announced the formation of a new combined force that would fight the US-backed militias and foreign troops in northern Syria.

The tribesmen from the Al-Hasakah, Aleppo, and Al-Raqqa governorates reportedly met in the government-held city of Deir Hafer, where they all agreed that they will come together to expel the US and their militias from their provinces.

Given the size of these tribes, they could present a serious problem for the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northern Syria, if they receive military assistance from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad stated during his latest interview with Russia Today that the US-backed forces and foreign troops in northern Syria will be dealt with militarily if they do not withdrawal.

The Pentagon responded to this threat by warning the Syrian President that any attack on their forces in Syria will end ‘badly’ for him.

The UIS (US) lost the Iraq war 2003-2011 by the shiites resistance (AAH, Hezbollah Brigades, promised day brigades, Iranian backed paramilitary groups), they did thousands of attacks, ambush, EFPs-IEDs on UIS troops with thousands of UIS casualties. They will lose again the Syrian war in the same way than the Iraq one. In addition this time there is Russia with Syria and Iran, therefore this time it will be 100 % more difficult for the UIS. The only hope for the Judeo-Islamic Western coalition are their best allies the Jihadists and Islamists from the Ahl Al Sunnah but no chance… Read more »

Well, they’re in Iraq for 15 years with maybe a 2 years hiatus? How did Iraq improved since 2011? “They will lose again the Syrian war in the same way than the Iraq one.” => You seem not to get that situation evolved between 2003 and 2011 : 2011 was the 1st time… Read more »

it is the time for the US troop to leave Syrian land, they are illegally their simply to serve the Zionist agenda , they will be paying heavy price if they stay . the population should fight them tooth and nails to get them out , as you know you , you cannot fight the population no matter how much force you have.
I blame the USA news media they are complicit in this affair , they should bring the illegal presence of the American military in Syria to the forefront.

The article is deliberately vague on where these tribes are from. Mainly Aleppo region, the region under control of Turkey? It is well known some tribes in Raqqah/DeZ were fervently pro IS. These are the backbone of those new groups? It is also well known many of the tribes dislike Assad. It is also well known some arab tribes dislike the pro female stances of the PYD/YPG and SDF and more and more of their own women/men are joining up in SDF armed forces, trained by the SDF. It is unlikely those will heed sectarian calls by geriatric tribal leaders… Read more »
