BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 A.M.) – Russian MoD specialists, including experts in radiological, chemical and biological warfare visited the alleged chemical attack site in Douma on Monday.
Medical staff also visited Douma’s hospital, but, according to Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria, found no signs of poisoning from chemical weapons while examining the patients.
According to Alexander Rodionov, head of Russia’s radiological, chemical and biological military in Syria, the results of examination showed no traces of chemical weapons being used in the area.
“During the visit to the hospital, it was determined that there were no victims with poisoning symptoms of chemical substances such as sarin and chlorine in the hospital”, said Rodionov.
On Saturday the ‘White Helmet’ organisation said that a bomb with toxic gas inside was allegedly dropped over Douma on April 7th which triggered the death of at least 70 people. The Russian MoD rejected the claims, calling these reports “fabricated”.
