DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3:03 A.M.) – Yesterday, the establishment of Jaish Al-Ashair (Tribal Army) was declared in Syria’s southernmost province of Dara’a.
The new force, led by Sheikh Abdel Aziz al-Rifai, aims to fight alongside the Syrian Army against all terrorist threats in southern Syria. Al-Rifai confirmed that he was assigned by the Syrian High Command to lead the Tribal Army.
The revered Sheikh uncovered that by the mere announcement of this group’s establishment, 160 men volunteered to enlist from the province. Many of those men are former rebels and rebel commanders who dropped down their weapons and made use of the Syrian Presidency’s amnesty program.
Al-Rifa’i added that enlistment doors are open to everybody.
