The Syrian Army Command Center has announced that a new division will be established to unify the various ranks currently operating in Aleppo city.

What is now named “Division 30 Republican Guards, will be headed by Brigadier General Zaid Saleh, who is also the Head of Aleppo Security Committee. He was promoted to commander.

Meanwhile, Major General Malek Allia was announced as the Division Chief of Staff.

This essentially now puts all Syrian Army units and ranks in Aleppo under a single and unified command.

Their primary purpose will be to maintain the security of the city and prevent disruptions such as looting. It will also make planning for future offensives in Aleppo a lot easier.

The new division will take lead in a battle in a new axis which will open soon.
