BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:30 A.M,) – The Baghdad International Airport was the target of a new missile strike on Sunday evening that was carried out by an unknown group.

A security source said on Monday morning that the vicinity of Baghdad International Airport was targeted with a Katyusha missile.

Citing a local source, Al-Sumaria TV said: “a Katyusha missile just fell in the vicinity of Baghdad International Airport.”

The Al-Sumaria TV source added, “The missile did not explode.” They pointed out that “this fall did not lead to any injuries.”

Meanwhile, sources told Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath that the missile strike was targeting the American base in Baghdad airport.

At that time, the Iraqi army confirmed that a Katyusha missile had been fired from a village to the west of Baghdad, but had caused no significant damage .

The area surrounding Baghdad International Airport is often subjected to Katyusha rockets, but the groups responsible rarely claim responsibility.

On Saturday evening, a similar attack occurred, but this time, it was the American Embassy in Baghdad that was targeted.

Is this signaling a new uprising in Iraq? I know they are getting fed up with the U.S. The Iraqi resistance was strong for about 3 years, then under General Petraeus, they were somehow paid off and quelled.
