BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – Last week, the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham took control of the strategic Taftanaz Airbase after the Turkish-backed National Liberation Front agreed to surrender the military installation.

The Taftanaz Airbase had been under the control of the National Liberation Front for quite a while before their forces reached a settlement with Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham to transfer the installation this past week.

Previously, the Taftanaz Airbase was captured by the Islamist rebels during their large-scale Idlib offensive against the Syrian government forces in 2013.

With the airbase under their control, they can now shift their attention to the integral town of Taftanaz, which is located just north of the military installation.

Under Putin-Turkey agreement, only terrorists and Turkey have obtained benefits, and the attack of terrorists to SAA will continue as long as SAA remains without motion (offensive).
