BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:20 A.M.) – A newly appointed jihadist commander in northern Syria has been assassinated by unknown assailants this past weekend.
Abu ‘Umar Tafkhikh was recently promoted to chief of bombing in the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham terrorist organization, when a group of unknown assailants opened fire on his vehicle in the western countryside of the Aleppo Governorate.
Tafkhikh spent only 48 hours as Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s chief of bombing before he was killed this past weekend.
The prior chief of bombing for Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham was Abu Ahmad Sharoukh; he was assassinated two days before Tafkhikh’s appointment.
