DAMASCUS, SYRIA (2:30 P.M.) – The raging fight between rival jihadi groups in northern Syria is expected to get even bloodier with the ultraconservative Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) recently joined the war.

According to sources, the hardline Uyghur jihadists will back up the al-Qaeda-linked Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham in a major counteroffensive against a newly-formed jihadi alliance; namely Jabhet Tahrir Souriya; made up of al-Zinki and Ahrar al-Sham groups.

The 3-day long counteroffensive has made possible for the HTS militants to seize 4 towns lost earlier to the rival alliance: Maarrat Misrin, Kafar yahmoule, Zardana and Ram Hamdan.

HTS sources also claimed they seized a tank, 3 technical vehicles, weapons and ammunition in the process of recapturing the aforementioned towns.

Below is a photo shows HTS tank inside Maarrat Misrin after expelling rival militants.
