BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:20 P.M.) – The Netherlands stopped the Turkish Foreign Minister’s jet from landing at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam this afternoon amid security concerns, Dutch officials reported.

Citing “risks to public order and security,” the Dutch government announced the cancellation of the Mevlut Cavusoglu’s visit to the country.

Livid over this move by the Dutch, the Erdogan regime promised harsh sanctions against The Netherlands and its people.

“If the Netherlands cancels my flight permit, our sanctions to the Netherlands would be heavy,” the Turkish Foreign Minister claimed, as cited by the Washington Post.

Erdogan has already issued a statement in which he vows to retaliate against the Dutch ban.

The Netherlands act right. Merkel and others should do the same. No Turkish election campaign here. It is a security risk and the EC is not Turkish soil.

I hope Erdogan is stupid enough to sanction a member of the EC.
That will wake up all EC politicians.

And then let us embargo Turkey together.

p.s. Turkey’s economy can not survive without the EC. Erdogan is so popular because of the economic track record during his reign. Ruin that and the Sultan is history after the next Turkish election.

Sanctions will hit Turkey harder. Third world country products are easy to replace from a another source. While they still need spares and machines.

“If the Netherlands cancels my flight permit, our sanctions to the Netherlands would be heavy,” => They didn’t cancelled his flight permit, what an idiot : he’s just not allowed to land. He may end with some surprise => Sanctions against one EU country will imply response by all the EU 😀 Nevertheless, it’s a clear sign that Turkey’s in trouble and not with the Dutchs only : generally, when you enter troubles with the EU, it always begins with the small countries acting unfriendly in such pattern. To paraphrase Erdogan : “When we refuse entry to Turkish FM, they… Read more »

Better cancel Turkish migrant workers monetary transfers home, Turkish participation in the EC border tariff union, Turkish textile imports and tourism to Turkey.

And then offer talks with Ankara. The results would surprise You.
