Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced to visiting U.S. Congressmen that a reconciliation deal between Ankara and Tel Aviv is on the cusps of being realised reported Haaretz Daily.
Although Netanyahu stressed that the relationship will not return to how they were 10 years ago immediately, he was “optimistic” about the future. He further highlighted that normalisation of relations can only benefit both countries.
Relations soured because of israeli commandos raided the Mavi Marmara ship in 2010 when Turkey attempted to dock a ship in Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.
Reports have suggested that both countries have agreed to about 90% of issues.
