The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said in a statement on Sunday that the Golan Heights will “forever remain a part of Israel.”

In his first cabinet meeting regarding the status of the illegally occupied Golan Heights, Netanyahu boasted that the present Israeli borders will not change and that it was time for the international community to recognize this.

“The time has come for the international community to recognize reality. First, that whatever will be on the other side of the border, the border will not change.”

“And secondly, the time has come after 40 years for the international community to finally recognize that the Golan Heights will remain forever under Israeli sovereignty.”

Netanyahu said he told US Secretary of State John Kerry on Saturday that ‘Israel’ does not oppose current efforts to reach a political agreement to end the Syrian war, but that “Israel’s boundary line with the country will not change.”

Netanyahu claimed: “The Golan was an integral part of the Land of Israel in ancient times. That is documented by dozens of ancient synagogues around us. And the Golan is an integral part of the State of Israel in the present time.”

U.N. Resolution 497 recognized the Golan Heights as Syrian territory; however, the Israeli regime has rebuffed these claims.

Can you blame them? they paid in blood for it and from a tactical sense, allowing anyone else to own it points a dagger at the heart of Israel.

Arne N Sundt, so what you’re saying is that Israel should return the launching platform that had been used so many times to reign death down onto its citizens? Or are you suggesting that they return it to Syria so everyone living in that region be immediately thrown into an active war zone with at least 3 different factions actively fighting for control?

It is still legitimately Syrian territory. “israel” has no right to it.

Or maybe Israël could do a much clever move, i.e. helping to get rid of Daesh, al-Nusra, Jaysh-al-Islam and other retards which, anyway, want to eradicate the jews. By making such move, they could achieve friendship with ‘young’ Assad’s Syria they never had with his daddy-Assad… Well, I suppose Bibi is not able of such forward thinking, but it’s the kinda thing I’d do in his place as, with a secular regime, you can achieve peace treaties, etc… Just look at european countries : they were at war for centuries… With fanatics, there’s no way to build anything.
