It was on Thursday afternoon that the sight of a huge blast shocked the world. The biggest nun-nuclear bomb in the history was used in Afghanistan in order to destroy the ISIS caves, as the US officials say. The Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb, or MOAB, was sent to Afghanistan in early January and is designed for two main military uses; psychological war where the fighters will easily surrender after confronting the tremendous blast and for use in massive destruction like underground wars.
According to the reports, Mother of All Bombs, as it is nicknamed, was launched by air force commanded by Gen. John Nicholson without the approval of President Trump. Although president Trump then praised the launch, the official’s tone answering the question about Trump’s approval did not seem reassuring:
“We don’t approve every strike. This administration has moved further away from dictating military strategy from the White House.”
36 ISIS terrorists were killed in the blast, according to Afghan sources. MOAB was first manufactured in 2003 for Iraq war. Tested for Iraq war, MOAB explosion reached 10,000 feet into the air. MOAB’s length is 30 feet, its weight 21,600 pound, and it is equipped with GPS guiding munition.
