BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:20 P.M.) – The militants in the northern countryside of Hama have begun digging tunnels along the front-lines with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), a military source told Al-Masdar News this afternoon.
According to the source, the militants of Jaysh Al-Izza and other Islamist rebels have begun digging trenches along the front-lines in Al-Lataminah and Morek.
The source said that the Syrian Arab Army is on high alert because the rebel forces may be planning to launch a new assault against the military in the coming weeks.
In the past, the rebel forces have dug complex tunnel networks that have proven to be effective against the Syrian Arab Army and their allies.
These tunnels were incredibly important for the militants during their six-year-long battle against the Syrian military in the East Ghouta region and southern Damascus front
