Cuba have delivered a two-tonne shipment of medical aid on Monday. The package arrived at Damascus International Airport and was only the first of deliveries in a series of agreements made between Damascus and Havana. Cuba has debts due to Syria.
Ali Hamoud, Syria’s Transport Minister, said on Monday that his ministry finished preparations for the aid to clear customs and for the swift arrival of and distribution under the Health Ministry’s supervision.
He then went on to thank Cuba for supporting the Syrian people and their struggle against terrorist forces. Cuban Ambassador to Damascus Rogerio Manuel Santana Rodriguez then went onto to highlight the close relations between Cuba and Syria and stated that they are both facing a common enemy.
