BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:25 P.M.) – For the third time in the last five days, large demonstrations took place inside several towns in the East Ghouta region of Damascus.
According to the pro-government Damascus Now, residents of Sabqa, Al-Hammouriyah, and Kafr Batna took to the streets of their towns to demand the militants immediately leave.
The demonstrators called for peace and reconciliation, while also welcoming the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) to enter their towns in the East Ghouta.
Prior to the demonstrations, town elders from Al-Hammouriyah visited Damascus to hold talks with the government; they reportedly welcomed the Syrian Army to enter.
