BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:55 P.M.) – Several graves were unearthed in the eastern Aleppo neighborhoods on Sunday after Russian and Syrian engineering units attempted to clear the area of any booby traps and explosives.
The unearthed graves were reportedly filled with dozens of civilian bodies that showed signs of torture inflicted on them by their captors.
Russian Ministry of Defense Spokesperson, Major General Igor Konashenkov, confirmed these reports on Monday, adding that many corpses were found mutilated and riddled with gunshots.
“The completion of a uniquely large-scale humanitarian operation by the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Aleppo will destroy many of the myths that have been fed to the world by Western politicians,” Konashenkov said in a statement.
“The results of only an initial survey of Aleppo neighborhoods abandoned by the so-called ‘opposition’ will shock many.”
