BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:20 P.M.) – The Israeli military launched its first attack of the month on Syria last night, targeting a number of towns inside the Damascus Governorate.
The Syrian military reported that some Israeli projectiles were intercepted over the Homs Governorate near the Lebanese border. The projectiles were likely targeting the Al-Daba’a Airbase area, which is located near the border city of Al-Qusayr.
A Lebanese security official said that some of the Israeli projectiles were, in fact, cruise missiles that were fired from the Mediterranean. Video footage of missiles flying across Lebanon’s southern coast was captured by locals during the attack.
At least six civilians were killed during the Israeli attack, including two children inside the town of Sahnaya in western Damascus.
