Latakia, Syria (10:15 A.M.) – The jihadist rebels of Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest) launched a major counter-offensive in the northeastern countryside of the Latakia Governorate on Friday, targeting be key mountaintop town of Kinsibba in Jabal Al-Akrad.
However, the jihadist rebels were never able to make any significant progress on Friday morning, thanks in large part to the Syrian Arab Army’s strong defenses at Kinsibba’s northern axis.
A military source in the northern countryside of Latakia told Al-Masdar News on Friday that the jihadist rebels of Jaysh Al-Fateh suffered a significant number of casualties to their ranks, forcing them to retreat north towards the Turkish border.
The source added that the entire Kinsibba area is under the control of the Syrian Arab Army, National Defense Forces (NDF) and their allies.
The jihadist rebels have now launched two different counter-offensives to recapture Kinsibba; however, both failed to yield any considerable gains.
