BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:30 P.M.) – President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas was welcomed to Amman on Wednesday by Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Hussein, where they discussed issues of mutual concern, with a specific focus on the ‘Deal of the Century’.
Abbas and King Abdullah II discussed the Palestinian cause within the context of the Arab world.
The two leaders also touched upon challenges facing Jerusalem and important Christian and Islamic sites.
Following the discussion, the Palestinian president spoke to reporters, reiterating how his rejection of US President Donald Trump’s ‘Deal of the Century’, was unanimously supported by leaders at the 29th Arab League Summit.
‘The Deal of the Century’ is a Middle East peace proposal first put forward by US President Donald Trump during his presidential campaign run.
Abbas has reportedly referred to it as ‘the Slap of the Century’.
