BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:30 P.M.) – Libyan strongman Brigadier General Khalifa Haftar is threatening to sue the Belgian authorities for allegedly supporting terrorism in the Middle East, the Libyan Nation Army Spokesperson Ahmad Al-Mesmari said on Friday.
“Belgium has delivered weapons to armed fighters in the west of Libya and supported terrorism. We may employ various methods to prosecute Belgian authorities and we have documents that prove our allegations,” Mesmari stated.
“We have evidence of the involvement of Ali Al-Sallabi, Abdelhakim Belhaj and Khalid Al-Sharif in delivering dangerous Chinese weapons to extremists in the city of Derna,” he added.
Haftar is currently in control of the largest portion of the country after defeating the jihadist groups that deeply embedded in the Benghazi region.
