BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:30 P.M.) – The Lebanese Army received their first batch of arms from France after an agreement was made between the two countries earlier this year.
According to reports from Beirut, the Lebanese Army received ten VAB HOT Mephisto armored vehicles fitted with anti-tank missile launcher turret, 95 HOT powerful anti-tank missiles, and 2 simulation systems.
This new batch of weapons received by the Lebanese Army comes just hours after reports surfaced that the latter had rejected an offer from the Russian Ministry of Defense to deliver arms to Beirut.
Since this report, the Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri has denied these claims, adding that Lebanon has in fact accepted Russia’s offer.
If Hariri’s claims are true, this will be the first time that Lebanon has directly received weapons from the Russian Federation.
