Lebanese leaders attended an official military reception to commemorate the 75th anniversary of independence from France in Beirut on Thursday.
Lebanese President Michel Aoun, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Saad Hariri attended the commemorative festivities held in the Lebanese capital.
Independence Day celebrates the end of the French Mandate over Lebanon on 22 November 1943.
This year’s festivities took place in an environment of political instability, as Prime-Minister Saad Hariri has been struggling to form a government six months after parliamentary elections took place.
