BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:30 A.M.) – Lebanese President Michel Aoun said on Tuesday morning that U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize the Golan Heights as Israeli territory contradicts international law and directly affects Lebanon’s interests.

“Of course, this affects the immediate interests of Lebanon. We believe that the leader of a foreign state has no right to dispose of foreign territories like that,” the president said at talks with Russian lower house speaker Vyacheslav Volodin in Moscow.

“In addition, the move is fraught with the escalation of social tensions, not to mention the fact that such steps contradict international law and the decisions of the UN Security Council in the most blatant way,” President Aoun added.

Volodin, in his turn, agreed that Trump’s decision was taken bypassing the UN Security Council and ignoring the UN dialogue on the issue.

The speaker urged all members of the international community to voice their stand on the matter.

Comedy gold! No other nations in the world recognise the Golan heights as Israeli territory, there is no legal basis. Furthermore the US or Drumpf do not have the authority for this transference. Don’t forget with the impending Israeli elections Nutty is pulling out all the stops, including starting another massacre of the Gazan strip to boost his popularity with the warlike populace of the chosen ones. Israel is a sick, sick society!

Agreed. US is ticking off the entire Middle East except KSA,Israel. Not to mention Europe,China, etc. Due to US Foreign policy, US will pay dearly for Drumpf blinding obeying Nutty and that occultist Jared Kushner. I will not be voting for him and this Israeli first policies.

Since US have a veto at the UNSC, it just mean they changed their advice on UNSC res.497 so it can be seen as de facto revoked. Note that Russia is not very verbal about it : It makes their day (Crimea+Ossetia annexation).
