BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:20 P.M.) – Lebanon’s Minister of State for Refugee Affairs Moin Al-Marahbi accused the Syrian government on Tuesday of killing refugees that returned to Syria recently.
The Future Movement politician said that the Syrian government has killed, detained, and forced many returning refugees to join the military.
Mahrabi added that a little more than 12,000 refugees have returned to Syria from Lebanon since June, leaving nearly one million more still inside the small Levantine nation.
Mahrabi did not provide any individual cases, nor did he specify the source of his claims.
The Lebanese minister, a loyalist of Prime Minister Saad Hariri, has long criticized Syria and its government, often blaming them for the crisis inside the country.
