Beirut, Lebanon (10:20 A.M.) – Tensions are reaching a boiling point inside the disputed Sheba’a Farms after the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) began the construction of a new road without the Lebanese government’s consent.
In response to the blatant disregard of Lebanese sovereignty, several political groups, including Hezbollah, issued statements to condemn Israel’s actions in the Sheba’a Farms.
Some of these statements by the Lebanese groups included threats of violence if Israel continues to violate Lebanon’s sovereignty.
The Lebanese Army’s “Tyre Brigade” has been deployed to the Sheba’a Farms to increase the size of their forces in southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese Army is not the only threat Israel faces in southern Lebanon, as Hezbollah’s large presence in the Nabatiyeh Governorate presents a major issue.
Civil defense protesters have also built camps at the southern Lebanese city of Marjiyoun in order to stop Israel from crossing the “technical line.”
