The Lebanese army on Tuesday expelled Takfiri terrorists from a mountain in Ras Baalbek barrens, al-Manar correspondent reported.
The Lebanese soldiers clashed with the terrorists after they carried a swift operation in Mkheirmeh Mountain in Ras Baalbek barrens, the correspondent added.
The Lebanese killed three terrorists and wounded four others, security sources confirmed to al-Manar.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese Army released a statement in which it confirmed the clashes in the Mkheirmeh Mountain.
“In response to information suggesting that terrorist groups have been undergoing logistic and hostile preparations along the 1564-meter-high Mkheirmeh Mountain, an Army force carried out a swift raid against” the terrorists, a communiqué by the army said according to the National News Agency.
“This move comes within the frame of pre-emptive military operations being implemented by army units to terminate terrorist groups and to prevent them from infiltrating army posts and assaulting citizens,” the statement added.
The NNA also said that the clashes left 3 killed and four injured “within the enemy ranks.”
