BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:45 P.M.) – Minutes ago, the Lebanese Army carried out several attacks along the Syrian border, targeting the jihadist rebels of Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham (formerly Al-Nusra Front) near Jaroud Qa’a and Jaroud Ba’albak in the Beqa’a Governorate.

According to a military source in Beirut, the Lebanese Army launched their assault earlier this afternoon, following numerous reports of jihadist rebels crossing the Syrian border into Lebanon.

The Lebanese Army units simultaneously targeted the outskirts of Jaroud Qa’a and Jaroud Ba’albak, killing at least 10 enemy combatants in the process of their cleansing operation.

Recently, the influx of jihadists along the Syrian-Lebanese border has required the Lebanese Army increase the number of military personnel in the region, so that their forces could not be overrun by militants.
